The Good Shepherd

The voice of God is a phrase we hear often when we deal with following God's plan for our lives.  Pastors use this phrase for several meanings.  When we read about the will of God, we say it is God's voice.  We believe that God can speak to us through others around us.  Some of us are so lucky as to actually hear a small voice in our heads that speaks to us!

In John 10 Jesus tells us that he is the Good Shepherd that will lead us.  We will recognize his voice and know where to follow. I wish it were that simple.  In today's world there is so much noise that we confuse the voice of God.  I have learned that it takes quiet time with God before I can hear the Voice.  I need to stop at the end of my prayers and listen.  I have to read the Bible in a quiet room so I can hear what is being said to me.

Exodus 31 says that the tablets of Moses were written by God's finger.  I believe that not just his finger, but his entire hand is trying to guide me.  I just have to hear the commands of his voice so I can follow.
