Deciding to Follow God

I have heard that battling alcoholism is a daily battle. Each day the person has to wake up and decide if they will stay away or give in. As much as I hate to use something like alcoholism as an example, I think deciding to follow God is similar.

Every morning, we make a decision. We choose to either lead a life that is right in the eyes of God, or we choose to follow what the rest of the world tells us is right. It won't work both ways! Watching ten minutes of TV will tell you that the world has a very different set of rules.

This is not an easy decision. It can put you against your family, or alter your career paths. It can drastically change your life and the lives of your family members.

Psalm 77 begins with all the woes of the world, but then the author makes a decision. He chooses to praise God and remember that God is in control. Even when life spirals, and it is hard to keep your feet on the ground, God has it under control.

I pray you make the decision to follow God today, but remember that you will be faced with that decision everyday!
