You know those days when you seem to have everything together? Your house is clean, you have money in your bank account, laundry is caught up, and you sit back and breathe a sigh of relief. Who gets credit for that? Do we praise God or pat ourselves on the back?
I read something about surrender last night. I was reminded that when we surrender our lives to God, he tests us. It isn't easy to hand over control, especially for those of us who enjoy control. It is hard for us to put complete trust in God when we constantly worry over what is to come. We try to hold on to money for the future rather than trusting that God will provide.
I don't have any easy answers to this. All I know is that deciding to relinquish control is a decision we have to remake every single day.
