Moving On

I bet the Israelites felt very empty and abandoned when Moses died. He was their leader, probably their friend, and a trusted man they depended upon. Deuteronomy says that when he died, he still had strong eyes and his strength. He didn't die a cranky old man who depended on others to care for him.

Deuteronomy also tells us that Joshua was filled by the Spirit after Moses died. God took the leader of the group, but replaced him with another who also would follow Him.

From this I learned that God helps us to move on after sadness. The next door will always be opened.
